Ways to live beautifully are discovered, designed, and built.

My goal as a landscape architect is to create beautiful outdoor spaces tailored to your goals, that are harmonious to the site and surrounding architecture.

As a landscape architect that specializes in residential landscape design, I am passionate about integrating design elements into a logical and harmonious plan as it relates to the site and surrounding architecture. The design process explores the potential and possibilities of the site while recognizing that each site is unique and comes with its own set of opportunities and constraints.

Working closely with the Client to develop a layout of design elements that complement the site and achieve the desired design goals, we move on to developing the materials, colors, textures, construction methods, and overall aesthetics.

In the end, beautiful, functional outdoor spaces are constructed that encourage outdoor living, improve quality of life, while increasing a property’s value.

The Design Process

Initial Client Meeting:

I ask questions to gain understanding of my client’s lifestyle. How do you want to use your outdoor space? Outdoor Cooking? Dining? Living? Entertaining? Walking or meandering to Destinations? Meditation? Viewing from indoors or outdoors? Curb Appeal?

Conceptual Design:

The layout of design features is studied, explored, and drawn in plan view.

Design Development:

Construction details are developed, and materials are specified.

Budgeting:

Costs are estimated by a Landscape Contractor, and the landscape plan is revised to accommodate the preferred budget.

Construction:

Landscape Architect collaborates with Landscape Contractor to ensure the 2D landscape plan is implemented on site, bringing the vision to fruition from conception to completion. Design/ Build.

Meet Darby.

Landscape architecture is my passion.  I enjoy designing beautiful, functional places for people to live as these outdoor spaces enhance quality of life while increasing property value.  I view each project like a puzzle with unique pieces that need to be put together.

When I am not working on my projects, I like to ski, hike, garden, travel, and spend time with my family and friends.
